Jad Montenegro is musician and all-around bag lady. She is the current host of Muzika del Sur News and previous host of rock show Durian Shake. She just released her EP called Fixed Points and Pendulums for her self-titled band, with bandmates Dave Ibao on drums and Pjoe Sabanpan on bass. She was awarded Best Pop Artist of The Year by Muzika Del Sur for 2009, and won Best Music Video for 2010. She is the vocalist of Polar Depth, an electronica/experimental band. Polar Depth was also given a special citation for Breakout Electronica Artist in 2009. To support her bad habits, like playing gigs for free and producing an indie album, she works from home as a writer. She is married to professional comic illustrator John Amor, a.k.a The Boy.

Princess Bubblegum amigurumi WIP. For the past 3 hours all she’s looked like is a stupid pink bowling pin. And my fingers facken hurt #crochet #adventuretime #amigurumi #princessbubblegum
Had band practice so I wore something comfortable. It was also a little cold so I bundled up.
Cut up a purple Superman shirt , wore a leopard vest over it and put on a pair of really old harem pants. I like to be comfortable during practices.
Wearing a hat I made myself. I got sick of crocheting so I took up knitting for a while. I just learned how to make cables, so:

P.P.S. Our band’s studio has a new cat. His name is Bacon, and he’s really fat.
Got a new desk because my old one was just getting overwhelmed with the amount of STUFF I do, lol. Fortunately for me my mom came to the rescue with this awesome narra bookshelf/study table that she bought when we were kids. It’s been sitting in my little brother’s room for a while, housing his comics, but he’s outgrown it and I told my mom I wanted it back!
I actually cleaned it up (above photo)
but for a while it was really just as messy as my old one, lol:
I love that it has so many compartments. My guitar is beside it, while all my cameras and lenses have their own shelf. I also put all my crochet and sewing stuff in the cabinet, which has glass so nothing sharp can fall out. The other shelves have comics I haven’t read yet, plus some mannequin heads holding my current crochet WIPs. More drawers/compartments underneath hold paper and other office supplies.
It feels great to get organized without having to use plastic bins all the time!

I haven’t posted about my crocheting in what seems like forever, but trust me, I haven’t stopped! My shop is going nuts with orders!
My shop is CLOSED until the 3rd week of January, so I’m taking this opportunity to get a breather and post about the new hat designs I’ve come up with up to this point.

Guess who had a productive week, work and shop-wise.

The Boy and I both love Jake the Dog, and after months of making hats for other people I finally got the chance to crochet something all for myself. I just made up the pattern as i went along, and I think my Amigurumi Jake the Dog turned out pretty sweet. Slamacow!

My living room looks like a zoo today. My shop’s closed now so I can’t take any more orders until it opens again, but I still have orders due up until the 22nd. Been crocheting like crazy and still doing my regular day job plus gigs, so you could say I’m kinda ridiculously-incredibly-omg-I-need-a-clone-machine-busy and I really can’t take any more orderrssssssssss why do people order ONLY when I put the closed sign up? LMAO! But seriously I have to close it to catch up with other things and besides I’m starting to see yarn in my sleep you guys
